Nighttime Mouth Guard
You may be grinding your teeth in your sleep and be completely unaware of it. Bruxism, or teeth grinding, is usually related to stress and anxiety. However, it can also be caused by an improper bite or missing teeth.
When you come into our office, we’ll take a look at your mouth to discover the cause of your TMD. If you do tend to grind your teeth at night, we can prescribe a mouth guard that you can wear at night to relieve the grinding.
This guard won’t necessarily stop you from grinding your teeth, but it will prevent your teeth from being damaged due to the grinding. It can also help you relax your facial and jaw muscles. This release of tension can be a big help to your TMJ.
